Sources claimed that PML-N decided that it would avail all available options to seek justice for Nawaz Sharif. PML-N leader Maryam Nawaz in her tweet said she had been praying for her father but only God will decide his fate. On February 20, a two-member judge bench of Islamabad High Court comprising Justice Aamer Farooq and Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kiyani reserved its verdict after hearing the PML-N founder's petition to get his sentence suspended in the Al-Azizia case. The judgement was announced on Monday which rejected Nawaz's plea.
Nawaz's family physician Dr Adnan said only the government would decide where and when to perform the medical procedure of Nawaz Sharif as he was suffering from stent blockage besides a stage-3 kidney problem. However, the decision of performing angiography of Nawaz Sharif was deferred yet again, apparently for other than medical reasons.
Nawaz, who was serving a seven-year term at the Kot Lakhpat Jail, was admitted to the Jinnah Hospital 11 days back. Moreover, the PML-N workers assembled outside the hospital and raised slogans in favour of Nawaz Sharif. At Jati Umra residence of the Sharifs, special prayers were also held for the health and release of Nawaz Sharif.
